Partners
John Beckwith
John Beckwith was admitted to practise as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1970. He has also been admitted to practise in the High Court and in the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
He holds the degrees of Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne and and served as a Colonel in The Australian Army Reserve. John served as a Judge Advocate and Defence Force Magistrate for the Australian Defence Force until 2012.
John’s areas of practice are in the fields of litigation, criminal law and family law, commercial matters, wills and probate and disputes.
Ashley Beckwith
Ashley was admitted to practise as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2001. He has also been admitted to practise in the High Court of Australia.
He holds the degrees of Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts.
He joined Beckwith Cleverdon Rees in 2005, after an extended period living in the United Kingdom where he worked in a number of in-house counsel roles.
Ashley’s areas of pratice are in property law, commercial and business matters, litigation, dispute resolution and estates.
Romy Burstein
Associate
Romy was admitted to practise as a barrister and solicitor in the
Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia in 2016.
She holds the degrees of Master of Laws and Bachelor of Arts.
Romy’s areas of practice are property, elder law and wills and probate.
Prior to admission Romy worked as a specialist family law secretary.
